1. Who we are
Cashlucent (“Cashlucent,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a bookkeeping web application operated by Phan Ventures LLC. You can reach us at support@cashlucent.com.
2. The service
Cashlucent lets you keep double-entry books for one or more businesses, recording transactions, invoices, expenses, banking activity, inventory, sales tax, and generating financial reports. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
3. Not professional advice
Cashlucent is a bookkeeping tool, not a substitute for a qualified accountant, tax professional, attorney, or financial adviser. We do not provide accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for how you use the reports and figures the service produces, including for tax filings and regulatory compliance. Verify anything important with a qualified professional.
4. Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account. Enable two-factor authentication for added protection.
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Cashlucent.
- If you invite other users or an outside bookkeeper to your organization, you are responsible for the access you grant them.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading purpose.
- Attempt to access other users’ or businesses’ data, or otherwise breach the tenancy boundaries of the service.
- Interfere with, disrupt, probe, or overload the service or its infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, resell, or copy the service except as expressly permitted.
- Upload malicious code or content you do not have the right to use.
6. Your data
The financial and business data you enter is yours. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it solely to provide and improve the service. We do not sell your data. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of anything you can’t afford to lose. Export your data regularly using the built-in CSV and PDF exports.
7. Availability & changes
We work to keep Cashlucent available and reliable, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may perform maintenance, modify features, or suspend the service, and we’ll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements or that results and calculations will be error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cashlucent and Phan Ventures LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50.
10. Termination
You may stop using Cashlucent and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to us or others. On termination, your right to use the service ends; export your data beforehand.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
